I don't have tinnitus and I may have started protecting my hearing just in time. I was quite careless with it until last year, now I rarely ever go full volume. Haven't been to a gig in ages, but I will invest in an earplug if I'm due to attend one.

Losing my hearing is one of my biggest fears. I'd probably contemplate killing myself if I ever went fully deaf.

Tinnitus isn't necessarily caused by ear damage, though, it can be neurological.
