Random thoughts

As for a random thought, well, when Microsoft explain that to recover from missing/corrupt system files do xyz, be very wary of doing this because by actually doing xyz it may cause more harm than good. Now I have to totally rebuild my laptop again. And then spend the whole day picking up Microsoft updates and rebooting it a zillion times.

When you have corrupt system files on OS X, you just archive and install, and everything's back.  God, I hate Windows.

Very true, but when that system file that is corrupt or missing causes your PC to not even boot up in safe mode, your buggered.

The Linux side was OK though.

Back to Persian words adopted by the Turks.

The Turkish word doğruluk comes from the Persian word doroogh, itself a variation of Avestan/Old Persian droog (a very important word in the Zoroastrian faith).

In Turkish, it means truth. In Persian, it means lie.

:D

I just realized that Maiden have written songs about books, songs about fencing, but never a song about The Three Musketeers...

They also have never written a song about anything Alexandre Dumas wrote...we should write to them and petition for an epic about the Count of Monte Cristo.

:uhm: yet all their songs are under the label "Iron Maiden" which comes from the Man Behind The Iron Mask

An iron maiden is a medieval torture device, mate. It wasn't invented by Dumas and was not popularised by him.

...but Steve got the name after seeing the Iron Mask...

Which is strange because what has "mask" to do with "maiden"? Nothing.

Perhaps a thought about Iron Lady Tatcher helped Steve to complete the name.

iron maiden is not mentioned/ shown in the film ?

I'm more than certain about it -and that's why Tacher was always present in the begining

so maybe it's so simple : while Steve was watching Iron Mask, he had the idea out of the blue
which means he could have watched Rocky Balboa with the same results, or ever worst Blue Lake

Iron Maiden were formed on Christmas Day 1975, by bassist Steve Harris, shortly after he left his previous group, Smiler. Harris attributes the band name to a movie adaptation of The Man in the Iron Mask from the novel by Alexandre Dumas, and starring Patrick McGoohan (who also starred in the 1960s series The Prisoner) which he saw around that time, and so the group was christened after the purported torture device.[5]

wait a minute........ Iron Mask is a 1977 film  (just IMDBed it)

There's also the 1939 version by James Whale (Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, The Invisible Man, The Old Dark House etc.)

Actually we could see this terrible mask as an instrument of torture, as an "Iron Maiden" for the head.
