Just something to mention: every one who considers themself to be even the slightest bit a hockey fan needs to watch 24/7 Penguins-Capitals.  Phenomenal.

There are... other options.

But I'd advise doing it soon, as part of the greatness is the immediacy.  Seriously: they were airing stuff three days after it was filmed.  The last part the first episode covers is Washington's 7-0 loss to New York on December 12th; the first episode aired on December 15th.

For example, I have Mike Green on my fantasy hockey team.  He went down with an injury last week, causing him to miss two games.  I got to see the cause, as well as make the connect between the two, only because it happened within the last week.

Thanks! just watched it, WOW, great series! And you're right GP, it is amazing how they can put it together in such a short time... can't wait for part 2.

Blackhawks have been playing really well the past few weeks, they are clearly not as good as last year, but I think with the current team and Hossa/Kane coming back they are still dangerous.

What? Chicago is clearly still as good as last year... oh no wait, that's the atlanta thrashers... *rim shot*.

I know I complain about this every year, but God I hate how standings work, weaker teams get top seeds just for being division leaders... oh but they must be rewarded for winning their division you say? Um... they get into the playoffs, THAT's the reward for ANY team with enough points. GRRRRR.

Watching the Caps-Pens alumni game right now, and let me tell you something: Mario's still got his hands. The legs are gone, but the hands are there, and it's incredible to watch.

About to watch Canada and U.S. in the world junior semi.
Expecting some hockey at its finest.
Wow. Canada at its finest.
But the U.S. was as missing as its fans.
I have never seen a building filled with the visiting fans in that way.

The semis were great, U.S v. Canada, Russia v. Sweden and now we have a classic final in Russia v. Canada... awesome!

I was disappointed with the Pens in the Classic, they played deflated and lackadaisically...

Watch the Florida Panthers games with Montreal visiting. 15,000 Habs fans plan their yearly vacations around seeing the Habs in Florida.

HOLY CRAP! now THAT'S a comeback! congrats to Russia indeed. Also, Pens 8 Lightning 1! Malkin one goal and Crosby one assist! Go team!

Great job by the Russians not giving up. Textbook example of how a goalie change can get a team to smarten up. Canada thought they won and gave up.

If hockey games were 30 minutes long...but they're not. Let me tell you, that is not a mistake these folks will make again. Congrats Russia - another chapter in the Great Hockey Rivalry didn't disappoint (from a hockey standpoint).

So Forsberg (who doesn't know when to quit) is back with the Avs. While not as drastic as Claude Lemieux launching his comeback, I can't help but think this is a similar situation. Forsberg hasn't played in the NHL for 3 seasons and even the little hockey he's played in Sweden since has been cut short do to the accumulation of injuries, particularly his foot.
