The way Chicago is, these guys will get paid there the rest of their lives. Back of the bench players from the Bulls and Bears still get endorsements. 20 years from now these guys will be able to sell something there because of the 2 (ideally more to come) Cups.

But in general, they are a very tough bunch of guys compared to other sports
 
Oh yeah. They're definitely set for life. I just meant that for an NHL player, their regular paycheck stops after the regular season. These guys don't get a single extra dime unless it's in their contract, and usually, that's for winning the cup.

Famously, Toews had a 2.3 million dollar bonus in his intro contract that only triggered if Chicago won the cup AND he won the Conn Smythe. That worked out well for him.

Montreal is looking good tonight .. but I just changed the station. Hawks game about to start. I'd like to see them win this tonight and put a dagger in the Wild.

It is starting to look like a rematch with the Kings for the Conference Championship .. though obviously there is plenty of time for the Ducks and Wild still. Kings/Hawks would give the Hawks home ice
 
Exactly .. I love that so-so song :)

That was easily the most boring period of Hawks playoff hockey the past two years. Which is the pace the Wild want to play at ... no score
 
... and the have Center misspelled at center ice :)

that was a bad icing to take ... I get going for the empty netter, but you need to be smart about it
 
I think that we were spelling it Centre before your little set of colonies decided to change the language.
 
Now we'll see if Chicago can go up 3-0 over the Wild. Chicago-Kings sounds like a great series.
 
Wild played a really good defensive game. Stat of the night, Hawks have lost the first road game now in the past 9 consecutive series .. but have 2 Cups in that run.

Not too worried, they need to control the pace better in game 4 and they will have a chance to win this in Game 5 at home
 
The Bruins are making things interesting.... and by interesting I mean tying my guts in a knot and giving me a heart attack.... Anyone else get the feeling the Hawks are the new Wings? I really don't see the cup going to anyone else, regardless of who comes out of the East.

Yeah, it seems that those ready to bury the Blues for losing in the first round forget they were playing the best team in hockey.
 
The Blues played well, Miller did ok, but the Hawks are... well... the fucking Hawks. Pittsburgh is going back to the conference finals as soon as they win game 5 and whether they face the Bruins or Habs again... which of those three teams can really match up?
