A straight hit on Portugal vs Turkey, Acrobat. And a really entertaining match as well. The Portuguese deserved the win and it could actually have been larger. I'm gutted that we didn't beat this Turkish team in the qualifiers. They aren't anywhere near the quality they had 4-5 years ago.

Switzerland vs Czech Republic ended 0-1, despite the hosts produced the majority of chances (and many of them big as well).

Today's matches are Austria vs Croatia and Germany vs Poland. There has reportedly been some arrests of German fans after a clash with Polish fans. My tips are Croatia to beat Austria (say 2-0) - and Germany to draw 0-0 with Poland.

Turkey weren't as bad as I expected really, but they lack a cutting edge, and I expect a tight low-scoring match between them and the Czechs.

Today's matches, I agree with you Wingman and predict Croatia 2 - 0 Austria, but also Germany 1 - 0 Poland.

Ask a Kraut for the translation.  :innocent:

"I support two teams: Switzerland and whoever can kick Germany's arse."

And no, I'm no Kraut.  ::)

Remember the show or the channel's name?

In the paper's defence*, that is supposed to be the hat of a dwarf, and the headline next to it reads something about England being the new football dwarves.

*don't want to diminish the fact that I think it is one of the the worst entities in the federal republic right now, though.

So far I'm quite pleased with my predictions, although I thought Croatia would beat Austria by more than they did. Actually, it was a rather weak Croatia, which delights me because I'm not a fan of theirs. Sorry Forostar, but today it remains to be seen whether the prediction I think you dislike most (the one about the Netherlands) will come true ;).

For the next couple of matches I predict a draw between Greece and Sweden (of course I hope Sweden wins, but Greece is not a weak team last time I checked), Spain to beat Russia, Portugal to beat Czech Republic (Portugal are my favorite to win this EURO, they have a great team), and Turkey to beat Switzerland (now that Switzerland has lost their best player due to a knee injury).

Croatia were not very good at all (how on earth did England not qualify? I'll explain how later) and I didn't like the way they threw themselves all over the place to win freekicks. I feel really sorry for Austria, as they deserved a point, but the quality of their crosses and movement up-front failed them.

Predictions for tonight: France 3 - 0 Romania, Holland 1 - 2 Italy

Hmmm, a big miss on France vs Romania. The first goalless match of the tournament and quite a disappointing one, really. Hope the Dutch and Italians can give us more than this. Good luck to Forostar's men.

Yep, France were about as bad as I thought they would be in this tournament, but Romania were a lot better than expected. More hope to the Dutch.

Yeah, that was the last time I was in here.

I didn't watch the match last night, but several pubs and gunslinging Turks in my neighbourhood let me know that Germany won with two goals.

I'm glad that Switzerland will lose on Wednesday, then!  ::)

Each Turk with a gun shot twice for each goal they lost by?

I think Germany played Poland. In any case, I couldn't sleep because of all those people shouting "Deutschlaaaaand" with Turkish accents.

BTW, it was more like 12 shots per goal.

It's still scary. What goes up, must come down.  Time to start sleeping with a bulletproof vest.
