Last time Holland met Italy was in Euro 2000 and Italy won that match on penalties. The two countries met a total of four times and they each won twice.

This is a close race with France edging out Italy by a game. I think Italy has a stronger team, but would it not be grand to see France take revenge upon Italy for World Cup 2006?
Italy has a far superior result in major tournaments than Romania, who has also not defeated France in the three times they met.
The funny thing is that Italy and France were in the same qualifying group as is true with Netherlands and Romania.
Here are the teams
I'd like to win in each group.
Group A:
Switzerland
Czech Republic
Portugal
Turkey
One of my friends is Portugese so I gotta support his team. I've always liked the Czechs, but they've been weak in World Cup 2006 probably due to injuries. However, I think Switzerland will get through for the reason Forostar said -- they're at home.
Group B:
Austria
Croatia
Germany
Poland
I have Polish friends but I've liked the Germans since 1990. I gotta go with them. However, the Pols have played better but they do tend to mess up in major tournaments. It should be interesting. Austria would not have made it this far if they were not co-hosts, in my opinion. Croatia is my favourite for obvious reasons.
Group C:
Holland
Italy
Romania
France
I expect Holland and Italy to make it through, however.
Group D:
Greece
Sweden
Spain
Russia
I will support the Russians because they were in the same group as Croatia. Spain always dissapoints so I won't cheer for them and I'd like to see Greece de-throned.
Last but not least... Does anyone consider this comment from the Romania coach as brash or ignorant?
Victor Piţurcă, Romania coach
It is a very nice and easy group, with the world champions, the World Cup runners-up and Holland who we know very well. We hope it will be an extraordinary experience for us and why shouldn't we be one of the two teams to qualify? Source
