Dear God. DEAR GOD! I just got back from Revenge of the Sith. It was amazing. The movie watching experience of a lifetime. The perfect cap to a superb series. Watching Anakin Skywalker creep into evil was just...oooh. Darth Vader's first breath in the suit just makes you shudder. I'm now watching ANH, and just...smiling.

Well, I saw Revenge of the Sith last night and well... another disapointment *sigh*. Sure it was better than the previous two AND it did have its moments were one would be "wow!" or "AAH!" but too few and far between... oh well at least now I can wait to buy all six for christmas and not leave the hows for two days watching them back to back.

Pineapple Hunter, or MaidenBabe, or whatever the fuck you want to be called, you may have gotten rid of the silly lesbian jokes, but your last few posts are about to forge you a solid reputation as a right dippy.

If you have a brain, could you please use it? Thanks! [!--emo&-_---][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/sleep.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'sleep.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

I was very satisfied after leaving the theater but it was not quite as great as most think it was.

I just saw Final Cut with Robin Williams. It takes place in the not-to-distant future and basically people have this organic chip implanted in their brains that records everything they see and here, funeral have basically become 2 hour movies about the persons memoirs. Of course they don't show spousal abuse, rape, incest and so forth... why? well it is up to people like Williams to edit that out, they are call cutters and they are film editors, taxidermists and priests roled into one. Of course a certain person did a certain bad thing that certain people want to expose... pom Pom POM! Good movie, I actually like williams in serious roles over stupid emotional flicks (what dreams my come, bicentenial man). when he plays the obssesive film developer at a "wal-mart" type store.... awesoooome.

Robin Williams is a highly talented actor. Check him out as the bad guy in Insomnia, too.

I think it was too much laughing and humour in the first part of Star Wars Revenge of the Sith. Actually I already have, not that great of a movie, but Williams does a great job. One hour Photo is the other "dark" film I was talking about... good stuff.

As for RotS I must admit there were several factors that contributed to the movie not being that great. One was that I went against my hardcore fan feelings and waited a week to avoid long lines and sold-out shows. Hence I waited in a "shorter" line with senior citizens and a clone army of 6 year-olds (who takes a 6 year-old to a pg-13 movie?) with their 2 year-old infantry men. So just being surrounded by a bunch of kids who can't even begin to comprehend the magnitud of the movie was a downer... nobody claped at the begining of the movie... two people (including myself) clapped at the end (after the end credits of course.. incidently only that guy, my girlfriend and i stayed that long). The audience brings so much to the film like when I saw the rerelease of the original "special edition" trilogy in '97 and when i saw episodes I and II, people were excited, pumped and emotionally invested in the film.

This time around I felt like I was the only person who was a "true" fan among the full theater of people and it made me feel like it would be "stupid" or "embarrasing" to actually cheer, clap or yell at any point in the movie.

The movie itself I felt moved too fast, he cramed to much into 2:30 hours enabling the series to make sense. I still don't want to talk about specifics since I don't know how many people have seen it, how many more plan to see it and how many don't care at this point.

Haven't read this thread in a while so some one might have mentioned this movie.

I just saw "The Village". I went into it with mixed feelings, as I'd heard nothing but bad about it, but after watching it I'd have to say it's been put to shame.
It's a brilliant movie with a great plot and if you can live with having all of the illusions given by the theatrical trailer being taken from you one by one as you watch the movie, you're in for a treat!
I had some idea what the ending might be after watching the first 15 or so minutes, but the film kept the suspense right until the end!
I was expecting a thriller/horror movie, but instead got a fantastic story told. 4/5 from me!

I felt the same way. I had heard really bad comments and reviews for it so I went into it not expecting much, but I LOVED it. Good movie.

I just recently watched The Lords of Dogtown. It was good and the soundtrack was kick ass. I like this one alot more than the documentary. [!--emo&--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/headbang.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'headbang.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

Kinsey. Oh god, go see the movie. I can understand why it didn't do stunningly in the box office (penises, breasts, and vaginas, oh my!), but it's a great movie. Qui-Gon Jinn...I mean Liam Neeson is damn near perfect for the role. The only thing that detracts from his performance is trying to figure out why an American kid born in Indiana has a British accent.

For those of you who don't know, Professor Alfred Kinsey was a University of Indiana biologist who moved from the study of bugs to the study of human sexual relations. He published some books on the subject (that were decried by the right as pornography), basically that said that things like masturbation are normal, despite what was being told to humans at the time.

Of course, in the US of A, this pissed a lot of people off, and they tried to shut him down in various ways (Customs cases and the like). Kinsey was a very interesting man, who's belief on sexuality did not cross the line of morality. He believed that sex was natural, but that no person should be forced to do something against their will.

Anyway, whether or not you agree with Kinsey's ideas, the movie is still fascinating, as it shows the history of one of the greatest research projects of the 20th Century.
