NOW WATCHING

Finished up with Longmire, which thankfully was renewed for another season. Really good show, good characters, good plot, good acting. On of my favorite shows.

Started with Stranger Things. The eighties look is incredibly well done. Hooked.
That is next on my list, once the World Series is over. Several people have told me the show is fantastic. Also want to watch Season 3 of Black Mirror, the first two were fantastic

@bearfan, just finished watching all 5 seasons of Alias. Season 5 has Amy Acker who plays an even bigger sociopath than she was in POI. Love both shows. Ben Affleck's an idiot for blowing it with Jennifer Garner (another Texas girl!) Ron Rifkin is great as villain Arvin Sloane.

Oh gees..... Finally got my own Netflix account so the GF and I have been watching A LOT of stuff, not to mention we've redboxed even more. Of the recent movies I finally got around to watch Captain America Civil War and it was really good. It was painful to watch them fight each other, testament to Marvels success in developing good stories and characters.

Also got around to watching the Conjuring 2. Absolutely love James Wan and his body of work as well as his close collaborators responsible for the Saw, Paranormal Activity and Insidious franchises.

We Netflixed Bones. Good series, while not perfect it has been of the few shows I've been able to watch without it becoming repetitive or formulaic, or OVERTLY formulaic. It pokes fun at itself, and kept things fresh with a rotating cast of "interns" and having the balls to off main characters and put others in not the greatest of situations and how that affects them for the rest of the series. the 12th and final season is airing on TV so... about a year before we get to watch it at our pace.

I've gone back to my Netflixing of Murder, She Wrote as they continue to take it off their list and then adding it again. Anyway, I am having as much fun watching the show as I am recognizing the guest stars. Off the top of my head those include: Bruce Jenner (now Caitlynn), Linda Blair, Brian Cranston, Linda Hamilton, Courtney Cox and Michael Glover among others.

I watched Bones religiously up until about 2 years ago because it was more fun than most procedurals. I genuinely like David Boreanaz as an actor and I think the character interaction between him and Bones (who is played expertly by my preferred Deschanel sister), and the supporting cast is very good (especially Hodgins). However, somewhere around season 8-9 the show becomes so bogged down in soap opera that I couldn't handle it anymore. I'll be interested to hear your thoughts when you get to that point.

Already did. I've seen all the seasons except for the one currently airing. I didn't mind the "soap opera" ness of it at all. Hell it's not like it turned into Grey's Anatomy. I stuck around despite that, because the murders still took precedence. In Grey's Anatomy or even Scandal, the characters' jobs were secondary to their drama. In Bones I never felt that was the case. Their focus remained on solving the crimes. I actually liked seeing more of their own lives, it added depth instead of them JUST being "crime fighters." The ending of season 11 was a real WTF moment. One of their season long serial killer hunts left on a cliff hanger.

Watched a couple of episodes of The Expanse, which is now available on Netflix.

Read the first book in the series (Leviathan Wakes) a couple of years ago and while it was decent I didn't really find it that memorable. As a TV-series though, this is great. The characters, which were flat and forgettable in the book, are given life through their actors and the story is as suspenseful as you could hope.

Finished Black Mirror -- Season 3 (the Netflix produced season) was best in my opinion.

Cool, need to get to this. The baseball playoffs has put me behind in my TV viewing. That is pretty high praise, the first 2 seasons were pretty damn good, this being better is pretty high praise

Black Mirror Season 3 - recomendable to everyone! No matter what your tastes are, I guess you will find one of those 6 episodes more than enjoyable. I've been waiting for this one since they anounced Amazon takes over, and to be honest I was a little sceptic. First 2 seasons and Christmas special (White Christmas) were a lot apart so when they announce they'll be releasing 13 new episodes I was afraid that quality may drop, but luckily - I was wrong.

Personal favourite of that season - S03E04 San Junipero - that episode has one of the most hypnotic/relaxing atmospheres ever!

On movies front I would recomend Captain Fantastic - black comedy/drama starring Viggo Mortensen about a family marching at the beat of their own drum in 21 century.

Watched the Sopranos first few seasons when they were new, but lost interest due to so many new characters introduced each season. I just finished watching the last 2 seasons and really enjoyed being reintroduced to this series.

David Chase says the rest of the scene at the end of the series would be 1. Tony is wacked; 2. Tony is arrested by the Feds; 3. nothing happens...just a family dinner. Since Phil is dead and his 2nd in command told Tony "whatever happens happens", I don't think that crew wants Tony dead now. The Feds would more likely arrest Tony at home than a restaurant. So I go with #3. Now with Chris & Bobby dead, Syl in a coma, Junior with Alzheimer's, & Carlo a rat, all that is left of the old crew is Tony & Paulie. I can see why the series ended there.

It is sad that cliques still exist in the 21st century that are too old-fashioned; ie everyone smokes, being gay is a death sentence ( I'm not gay, but I don't judge). Really an enjoyable series though about family and sociopaths.

Watched The Expanse season 1 on Netflix.

A well made sci-fi series based on the book series with the same title. Stars an amazing Thomas Jane as one of the leads, the hard boiled noir-esque detective, Josephus Miller. Not very original so far, but still atmospheric and well-acted. A couple of notches above the book it is based on.

Anyone watched Sully yet? Here is the actual plane in the Carolinas Aviation Museum:
