NOW WATCHING

Watched the first episode of Better Late Than Never (NBC and Hulu) last night ... so bad, yet so good at the same time

Reality show where William Shatner, Henry Winkler, Terry Bradshaw, George Foreman, and some other guy as the tour guide go off to Asia for a month long vacation. They were in Tokyo for episode 1. I was just laughing my ass off for most of the episode. Looks like there will be 6 total, next week is Kyoto and Hong Kong

Entertaining yes. When they made it to the top of the stairs and they're in awe of the sight of mt. Fuji and Bradshaw breaks into Amazing Grace...:D

Didn't know he put out albums either.

Animated film fans take note: Toy Story 4 and Croods 2 both have been bumped from 2017 to 2018 (which is also the same year Wreck It Ralph 2 and the Sony animated Spider-Man film are also releasing)

Watched the first two episodes of Sons of Anarchy last night and watched all the first season of Stranger Things last week.

Usually I get bored fast and it's hard for me to finish a serie. But I think this one (Sons of Anarchy) looks promising.

Stranger Things was good to watch with my bride (better than watch Once Upon a Time with her).

Sons of Anarchy is interesting, I overall enjoyed the show but season 3 (I think) was pretty tough sledding ... it gets better again after that.

SOA Season 3 has the weirdest middle, but the last episode is incredibly satisfying. Season 6 is weird too. Overall I loved the show.

Watched Predator for the first time in years. Watched it with my son. Forgot how fun that film was. Great one liners:

'I ain't got time to bleed"
"That's a real nasty habit you got there"
"I'm gonna have me some fun"
"If it bleeds, we can kill it"
"We're all gonna die"

Watching in the following order:

Predator 1 & 2
Alien Vs Predator
AvP Requiem
Prometheus

to prepare for Alien Covenant August next year. Will see Predator 2 tonight.

Watched Saving Private Ryan today (just came to Netflix) .. such a good movie.

Caught The Martian on the plane yesterday, also really good. I enjoyed that one, better than I was expecting

I watched this excellent movie yesterday called Whiplash from 2014. About a young jazz drum student and his instructor at a prestigious music conservatory. Should be an interesting film for everyone but perhaps mostly musicians (and especially drummers) but also jazz interested :) @Mosh , @Forostar ...and others :)

Saw it today! Holy hell what a film. It felt as a thriller. At the end, during that finale I still didn't know how it would end.

I just finished Stranger Things. I don't know if it quite lived up to all the crazy hype it has been getting, but I still enjoyed it.

Up next it's between Bloodline and Narcos. Anybody have any suggestions on which one I should go with?

Haven't watch Bloodline but friend said the story starts dragging mid-season and end of the season is a bit lack-lusterish.
I'd recommend Narcos - impeccable acting, beautiful scenography and the story is... well, I would be sick if I say it's great because the show keeps remembering you that THAT really happened. But it's still hypnotizing to watch nevertheless.

I saw it last week. Very entertaining, a very 80s atmosphere throughout, which I found nice. It somehow gives off strong Stephen King-ish vibes, so I'd recommend it.
Hope to learn more about the origins of the Hawkins lab & Dr. Brenner in season 2. Matthew Modine did a great job. Very different role for him. A bunch of sociopaths to treat kids like that.

Went to see Sully (2016) last night. Directed by Clint Eastwood and starring Tom Hanks, it tells the story about U.S. Airways flight 1549 and it's landing on the Hudson river, subsequently called "the miracle on the Hudson" as all passengers and crew survived. Considering the people involved here, you know what type of film you are going to get. The surprises instead lie in the narrative structure, which seemed unorthodox but proved very effective, as it jumps back and forth between the event, the aftermath and a few well chosen biographical flashbacks concerning the main character. Two thumbs up and well recommended!

Just saw series premiere for Designated Survivor starring Kiefer Sutherland. Really liked it. Was just in DC a month ago. Also a huge West Wing fan (but this show is not like that). The plot is horrifying. Won't ruin it for those not aware. Looking forward to next episode.
[President Kirkman handled himself better than expected with the Iranian ambassador. Now he has to prove himself to the nation/SPOILER]

It looks interesting, but as usual when it comes to network shows I'll wait a couple of episodes to see the ratings so I don't get attached if it gets cancelled. Is it more a drama show with less action like Homeland or closer to 24?

The Good Place and Superstore both seem interesting, will also wait for ratings since it's NBC :P
