Ha, what do you know? and I didn't even read it, just from the jist of it it sounded very "Indiana Jones" to me.
Anyway, the last film I saw was Glory Road, the "true" story of How Texas Western College beat Kentucky in the NCAA championship back in 1965 (or was it 66? ah whatever). This movie was very emotional for me because my mother attended Western College when that happened and she is an avid basketball fan. She went to all their games and knew the players (she told me David Latin asked her out on a date but she was too embarrased and shy to say yes) and she has told the story to my brother and myself over and over and over and over again. So I liked the film because in a way it vindicated my mother because I just thought she was crazy and who cared about a basketball game. Now I see the magnitude of the event and my mom went bonkers when she found out about the film. they premiered it at UTEP (University of Texas at El Paso), what Texas Western became after winning the championship. Many articles have been written on the subject, some discrediting the film saying other teams had four starting black players well before Texas Western as if dismising the fact that Five IS NOT four and that the two reserve players were black as well, a FIRST in NCAA history. Others more fair and balances like the SI (Sports Illustrated) article pointing out the dramatizations of the film (Haskins won the championship in his fifth, not first, season at TW) but acknowledging the importance of starting and playing only black players. Really good movie and to say "my mom was there, saw it happen," is pretty cool [!--emo&--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/biggrin.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'biggrin.gif\' /][!--endemo--]
