I saw that film, it had Robert Deniro in it... "Hide and seek" is the name.
There were four alternate endings in it from memory. It is quite a good film but i disliked the ambiguity and "darkness". Literal darkness caused by a bad lighting technician, not a schizophrenic child [img src=\"style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/tongue.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":P\" border=\"0\" alt=\"tongue.gif\" /]

Sorry, Conor, but we're talking about different films. The one I saw had no stars and a notoriously skinny (and not very pretty) lead actress. It was called They.

That's quite a coincidence, both films have an alternate ending with the main character being schizophrenic and inside a mental institution :: There must have been a rip off somewhere. To bump the thread and get some attention I have to double post, sorry guys.

I watched "Firefox" at the weekend (The Clint Eastwood film and not the browser [img src=\"style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/tongue.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":P\" border=\"0\" alt=\"tongue.gif\" /])... TBh, it's one of the worst movies I have ever seen. The cheesy lines and unbelievable plot lines along with terrible, confucing accents makes this movie really terrible to watch. the acting is very plastic and the directing by eastwood himself is very corny.

The worst scene involves Clint talking Russian to a machine because it can only read his thoughts in his convenient second language.

Not recommended... 1/10 [img src=\"style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/wink.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\";)\" border=\"0\" alt=\"wink.gif\" /]

I don't know if I posted this before but I finally saw Batman Begins. I found it to be a great film. Christian Bale brings back that darkness Bruce Wayne had when Michael Keaton played batman, if not darker. PERFECT fit. My only concern is that as a "prequal" it makes you wonder why does he have better equipment than the first Batman... oh well.

I also saw the Original 1933 King Kong and it was a good movie. I liked the remake more (The only remake that i've liked more than the original), and it has nothing to do with better special effects, I liked the story and the character development much more.

The last movie I saw was Woody Allen's new one, Match Point. I've never been much of a Woody Allen fan but this movie was unbelievable! Great acting by a great cast made the characters ALL sympathetic. (Jonathan Rhys-Meyers will really be a star someday!) It's also got one of the best endings I've ever seen in a movie. 9.5/10 - DEFINITELY SEE THIS MOVIE, IT'S ONE OF HIS BEST.

Also before that I'd seen the Matador, with Pierce Brosnan, which I didn't like at first but it has grown on me quite a bit, thinking about it.

Plus (and I know I was a bit late on this one) I just recently saw Sin City. Wow. That was one great film. I was just blown away by it. The style was perfect - you really feel like you're in the comic book. I'm not generally one for excessive violence in movies, but this was well worth it. Hats off to Robert Rodriguez and everyone involved in it...

The Batman Begins movie is supposed to be a "reboot" of the Batman mythology, as far as movies are concerned. In other words, it defines itself as starting at square one and takes no account of previous movies. Therefore, it is not a prequel.

I saw the film 'Almost Famous' a few days ago. It's not a bad film, but it seemed to me that they were trying too hard to keep namechecking bands, when someone would say something like "Yeah, Bob Dylan was here last night, man" or "I was just chattin' to Zeppelin in the hotel down the road...". All in all, a pretty good film but nothing to get too excited about.

It's true, "Almost Famous" is a bit overhyped. I like the film nevertheless. And I would still recommend it to anyone interested in rock music.

hmmm, that's news to me, thanks for the comic book geek update. Last I heard it was supposed to be a prequel, but your explanation makes more sense.... now the idea of a sequel to this movie is not so outrageous.

Ok, since I have nothing at my new place except a few blankets, a sleeping bag, a table, a couple of chairs and hygene and kitchen essentials I've been buying dvds like there is no tomorrow (not a smart thing to do considering I've got rent to deal with now... oh well).
So I got Disney's Absent Minded Proffesor. I don't know what is wrong with Disney lately but all there is not one of their remakes that surpasses the orignal. Flubber is a piece of shit compared to TAMP. Anyway
I got the Spike Lee Joint Collection which includes: Do the Right Thing, Clockers, Jungle Fever, Crooklyn and Mo' Better Blues. I haven't seen Mo' Better Blues or Crooklyn but the other three movies were really good. I didn't like the story of Clockers too much but it has to be the first movie in which I actually like Harvey Kitel.

Syriana. I saw it at the cinema today. It was very well meant, and what the film is trying to transmit is certainly comendable. But it was very overloaded, and the dramaturgy suffered a lot. If you are going to have different story threads in a film, you have to let them run together at the end of it so the whole film makes sense. This one told four or five different stories and had only a part of these threads run together, thus several endings at once. And what is worse, some of the stories were rather complicated, so the whole thing was pretty confusing at times. I still consider it a worthwhile watch, mostly because once you separate the different stories, you get a very good commentary on the hot topics of capitalism, imperialism and terrorism.

Nevertheless, a group of 14 year olds left the cinema in the middle of the film. Apparently, it was just too difficult to them [img src=\"style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/wink.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\";)\" border=\"0\" alt=\"wink.gif\" /]

Or maybe they heard that free condoms were being given out down at the chemists?

Anyway, I have not been watching many movies recently but have watched a few comedies. I quite liked "The IT Crowd" while it lasted but it only got better towards the end of the series. Also, "My Name is Earl" is quite a good programme, not just for the humour, but also for the clever storylines.

I've been watching quite a lot of "Family Guy" and "American Dad" recently aswell. Both similar, good quality cartoon comedies made by the same people. I prefer AD because the main character, Stan, is quite hilarious IMO. Peter Griffin just gets on my nerves but Stan Smith keeps me laughing all the time. WHAT? Peter Griffin is a comedic genius that has made me cry with laughter on occasion, the first three seasons mainly and some of season four, but nevertheless the "man" has done enough good in his "life" to excuse being a little annoying in some cases. In my opinion of course.

V for Vendetta!!! that was one sweet movie. Agent Smith, I mean King of the Elves I mean Hugo Weaving was one tongue-twisting, ass kicking heroe in this one. Not to mention... NATALIE PORTMAN... aaaah if it weren't for Angelina Jolie she'd be my #1. At any rate good movie, highly recommended.

she wasn't BALD...just shaved [img src=\"style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/biggrin.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":D\" border=\"0\" alt=\"biggrin.gif\" /] she pulled it off quite well.

Natalie Portman with a shaved head is one of the worst crimes against nature.

When I first started watchng these programs, I thought they were hilarous, but now they are just way too predictable and pretty much all the same.

On a side note, American Dad has exactly the same chin as one of my mates. [img src=\"style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/biggrin.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":D\" border=\"0\" alt=\"biggrin.gif\" /]
