NOW PLAYING

Oh well, Soft Machine is an instrumental band. They usually are drums, bass, Electric piano, synthesizer, flute, sax… with guitar in some album.

The most famous album is 'Soft Machine Third' released in 1970. I like 'Seven' released in 1973. They have a fantastic album 'Bundles' from 1975 with Allan Holdsworth on the guitar. The last studio album 'Other Doors' from this year is very good. If you want a Live record from these years to get an idea what are you going to hear in the concert I recommend you Live at The Baked Potato from 2020. Anyway. It's Jazz, Lately Contemporary Jazz with Prog and fusion touches but you can have the feeling to hear Hawkwind sometimes. Their songs are very hypnotic too and can be boring if you're not usually like this kind of stuff.
