Now Playing (Video Games)

Super Metroid is pretty great but I could never get the damn cartridge to work :(

I think my favorite game on that console would be Donkey Kong Country. That game rocked.

It's hard to say which is my favorite from SNES. There have been so many great games I've played and some that just hold sentimental value because they were apart of me growing up. At the same time, there are still some of those games out there and I haven't played yet either. Same with NES, Genesis and any other older console games.

I've had SNES back in the day. However, I had only Super Mario World cartridge that came with it. Games were fucking expensive.
There was a game rental business nearby, so we wasted our allowances on renting SNES games, but it was always multiplayer stuff like Street Fighter II, Mario Kart, etc.

Magazines were computer-oriented, since home PC's dominated this part of the world since forever.
There were no restrictions on software import, and no laws on piracy. Copying floppy disks was cheap and easy. Copying cartridges wasn't.

That's why I wasn't exposed to console scene so much.

Regarding Super Metroid, you can only be happy for me that I discovered it so late. Imagine that today, you heard Iron Maiden for the first time ;)

Since I'm a huge Metroid fan, I always wondered if others like the franchise. It would be very fun if people could talk about the bosses, items and other stuff from the franchise.
So, that's the entire point of this thread.

I've been in a Zelda phase lately, something that almost always happens around Christmas time. Currently on Link's Awakening.

I also feel like playing through Illusion of Gaia again (my favorite SNES RPG).

Just a couple of minutes ago, I found my old brick of a PS2 which I thought no longer worked. Last time I tried it, it would turn but the discs wouldn't play. I decided to dig it out today just to see if anything happened and oh my god, it works! I'm so excited right now! I still have my old PS2 games and even some old PS1 games. Lately, I've had this strong urge to go back and play through Final Fantasy VIII....and I might just do that. It brings back 1999 Holiday memories for me because I had played it all during my winter break from school and still after.

We all have our dragons to chase. I FINALLY beat Mario Bros. 3 thanks to the pausing feature on the Wii.
Same here! I remember I spent almost 6 hours playing it once on the NES and still couldn't finish it. Such a long game.

I have never been able to beat Illusion of Gaia.
I don't remember how I did it (probably used some online guides ) but I think I still have the finished game saved on my cartridge.

Whistles.

I still found it inferior to a lot of SNES adventure/rpgs, which is why I haven't gone back to do the effort nowadays.
