Now Playing (Video Games)

That was how to do it back in the day, but I found it enjoyable to play through every world. Even with whistles one got tired of dying all the time ;)
I'd say something but I know I'm not nearly as good at Mario 3 now as I was when I was 6.

The first time my dad and I played through Mario 3, we only whistled to get back to worlds we'd already accessed but not beaten. So we used them to not repeat defeated levels but to ensure we could play through each level sequentially.

That's what I like to try and do, play through all the worlds, but I get irritated with a world and its like oh hey! I have a whistle.

I still found it inferior to a lot of SNES adventure/rpgs, which is why I haven't gone back to do the effort nowadays.
Maybe it's a nostalgia thing, Gaia was the only SNES rpg I had at one point. But even still, when I play something like Earthbound or Chrono Trigger, it's not quite the same feeling as Gaia.

And yea, I tried to stay away from the whistles.

Must be, because both of those are superior games ;)

Same! I hardly play video games anymore but lately I've really been in the mood for old games. :D

I started playing Shadow of the Colossus for PS2 a couple days ago and I can honestly say that this is one of the best games I've ever played. I have no idea why I didn't know about this game back when PS2 was relevant. Everything about it is amazing and for a game that has such a simple concept (go find a Colossus and kill it), it can be pretty challenging. The best part is going up against the Colossi. It sort of gives you an invigorating feeling...at least it does for me.

Anyone playing with the Faster Than Light: Advanced Edition content? There's still some stuff I have to wrap my head around, but I think there's a bunch of worthy stuff that got added to the game with the new content.

Shadow of the Colossus is one of the best games ever. Anyone who has played it really rates it high.

It's no Ocarina of Time...but hey.

I've actually finished it by now but I'd definitely play it all over again. I started playing Ico, which is a pretty interesting game but I kind of got a bit irritated with it and stopped playing. Plus those shadowy figure things were kind of freaking me out.... And it doesn't help that an N64 purchase stole my attention away from the PS2 and I've been playing that.

Ocarina of Time is a game I haven't played in a long time. I should fix that sometime soon.

I have the new Scribblenauts but it's not capturing my attention as much as I hoped it would. Fun, but kind of annoying after awhile. I'm probably just going to play a buttload of Civilization V today.

I've been playing FIFA 14 extensively. According to Origin, 717 hours since I bought it on October 1st 2013 :D

I'm playing a pirated version, but I probably am going to buy the real thing for FIFA 15. I wanna play online really bad.

I just got really really tired of having to reinstall the game x times, so I bought the real thing. Plus they update player and club ratings every week.

I haven't played online yet :D

You should, it's much more fun than playing against the PC. I didn't play 12 and 13, but I entered a couple of tournaments on forums with FIFA 11. It was great winning all of them. :p
