Nicko McBrain

It seems the single was not recorded w/ Nicko, but by the first lineup. Sometimes you have to go to another source to avoid speculations. Not nice to know, but that's it and there's the correct picture in the video. Sorry.

Sorry to divulge from Nicko as the main focus for a second, but I only ask because of the Lazarus post two above me - is Joe's dad still complaining that his son wasn't picked for the Maiden touring gig?

You can hear 2 different drummers on the new Motorpsycho album. That made me think of Nicko and Simon, although I don't believe it would be a good idea for Maiden.

I truly believe that no one has Nicko's feel! He is a unique drummer and one that cannot be replaced. Signature style.
Yep, that's something truly unique. I always think of each person, each instrument and what they bring in.
Sometimes I really focus on drums or listen to some isolated tracks and it's so evident, the feel he had there.

You wanna talk about feel? Have a listen, in case you haven't; the show starts at about 1:10 in:
It's literally a completely different piece compared to how Clive originally played it by this point, but my God is it ever a perfect encapsulation of Nicko's influences in a singular tune that's at least meant to be heavy metal - not that the drum track particularly sounds like it.

I've always vastly preferred Nicko's playing

A unique drummer and sorely missed.
