But they are more due to the moment than the songwriting. Sheriff Of Huddersfield (based in Urchin's Life In The City), Nodding Donkey Blues (based on Bruce's Ballad Of Mutt), Pass The Jam and More Tea Vicar are credited for the funny jam they had. Virus is credited to all as it's an answer to the british press that betrayed and stabbed Maiden in the back; so all of them felt the song was a band's answer, even though Steve wrote most of it.

If a 2 guitarrists shared composition appears on The Final Frontier, it's a totally different case than of these songs above.

I seem to remember one of my Maiden Albums (either Iron Maiden, or one of the live ones) crediting Sanctuary as being written by "Iron Maiden", where another version has it as "Di'Anno/Murray/Harris", which seems the more likely of the two.

Is it really that important which combinations wrote a song?

No, only to some fanatics. ;)
I am just curious for some new variation, that's all. But if it wouldn't happen, I won't be disappointed either.

Don't try to look 'normal', now. You're the only one who says that's hoping for a 2 guitarrist credited new composition. ::)

If you're naming me as a 'fanatic', you're wrong. I just have a lot of things stored in my mind about Iron Maiden. :smartarse:

A new rumour about The Final Frontier - a guy asked on Kevin Shirley's facebook if it's true that 2 possible song titles, which appear on a Kevin related photo (possibly from the studio), could be confirmed - The Inheritors (the name of a novel by William Golding, written in 1955. Also interesting, is that Genesis used the book loosely for the idea behind A Trick Of The Tail) and Christabel. Interesting to note about Christabel is that is a poem, written by Samuel Taylor Coleridge - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christabel_(poem)

Another anthologic epic coming around the bend? I hope so! \m/

Last Friday night, on 'Arry's birthday: H, 'Arry and Michael Kenney (keyboards) were busy with some Final (Frontier) recordings in the studio according to Kevin's update on his facebook, from last Saturday ->

Late studio last night, dinner with birthday boy Arry and band mates A. Smith and M. Kenney - he's on a plane today.

Someone on the official Maiden forum posted this trivia:

Seventh Son of a Seventh Son was recorded and mixed in January and February 1988. The Final Frontier looks like it's recorded and mixed in January, February and March 2010.   B)
