NECA Iron Maiden Figures

The paint apps on the prototype are MUCH better than the crappy mass produced ones, even if it is pretty blah from the ribs down. I might've bought that one still if it was that good. I suppose I could always strip all the paint off and do it myself on these newer NECA ones.

I don't know if you've seen the Final Frontier figure in person, but I used Travis's link to EBay and bought one. I was pleasantly surprised! I originally despised the final frontier Eddie at first. Since the En Vivo Blu came out , he kinda grew on me. Anyway, his Neca figure is spot on. Here is a picture of the one I received from eBay: image.jpg

I went ahead and went Eddie shopping while I was there. Got some pretty good prices too as a lot of them had "make an offer". So I was able to save around 100 bucks on all ! Neca phantom of the opera :

That Final Frontier one does actually look good! My memory might've been kinda crappy, blurring the FF one with the NECA Killers one that really just looked like someone slopped yellow paint all over it. But good finds! Here's what I've got:

McFarlane line:
Killers
Trooper

NECA:
Phantom of the Opera
Live After Death
Piece of Mind
Somewhere in Time 6"
Somewhere in Time 18" (also unopened)
Number of the Beast 18"

Bobbleheads:
Live After Death
The Trooper
Piece of Mind
Somewhere in Time

Statues:
The Trooper resin cast statue
The Clansman cast statue (offered long ago from the Official Maiden site)

Awesome collection!

I have the LAD one.
That may be my favorite figure of all. McFarlane used to be the watermark for detail, but NECA did an excellent job with this one.
I'm partial to the whole Powerslave/Live after Death era... I was hooked on them by that album and tour!
Phantom has some really great detail too!

So... I called Toys R Us yesterday to see if they had the new Trooper.... Girl on the phone checks in the computer and says "nope, it has to be ordered online. I went there the night before and they truly didn't have any. So just for goofs and giggles, I went by after work last night and BOOM! They had about 10 or so lying around. I was able to pick the best one out of the ones they had with the best paint job, collar on jacket folded down, coolest pose on figure. His head is turned and tilted slightly almost with a "get the blade out quickly look"! I was skeptical at first, judging by the pics from neca, but wow! In person, it has tons of detail in the face and body, is fully clothed and has a dirty battle damage aged look to him! Highly recommended! I will post more pics of his clothes so you can see the detail in the fabric!

I tried to get some pics to show the detail in the clothes. His coat has a cross weave texture to it. His pants are stained with blood and dirt. He's wearing brown boots with white dirt stained boot covers. I own the McFarlane Trooper and have always loved it, but this one is really growing on me.
I've got to be honest... From the pictures circulating on the net, this figure struck me as a "plush" doll of sorts. Because of the real clothing on him, he is a bit "fuller" than the McFarlane one, but is really awesome!
The only negative I can point out is that the rear picture on the package shows him on a base with a hand coming up from the ground, but is not included with this figure. All in all if you love maiden, and enjoy their figures, this is a no brainer. Get out there, pick one up and enjoy it! Looking forward to see what the mummy is going to look like. :)

How big is it?

Just about 8.25" inches tall. Comes in clear plastic clamshell packaging that measures 9.25" inches wide by 11" inches tall. He's in line with the other Neca Maiden figures, so if you're gonna keep it in the original package, he should display quite nicely with your other figures.

*sigh* Looks like I'm going to Toys 'R Us tomorrow...Is the Trooper one the only one out, or is the Mummy one out too?

Just the Trooper right now. He's $24.99 too. Expensive, but fun... I also had to bite on a 31" inch Christian Bale Batman figure. $34.99 Highly detailed! I didn't want to spend the money, (I'm 45), but I had an argument with my inner child and he wound up throwing a temper tantrum in the store so I had to hurry up and get Batman too to shut him up! :)

Hehe, yeah, I'm 37 and having a mid-sized wedding on Saturday (not to mention a brake overhaul on my car that I wasn't expecting), so probably gonna hold off a bit on picking him up. My inner child wins 9 arguments out of 10 too, particularly when it comes to retro video games and graphic novels.

I hear ya! I'm the same way. I don't drink, don't smoke, but I DO have a serious KISS and Iron Maiden collection too! Then there's Batman, The Watchmen, Alien films, etc...
Lol!

Okay... You guys have me hooked on Eddie figures! I ebayed over the weekend these: All of these are in original packaging! Neca Piece of mind, McFarlane Killers (looks so much better than Neca's), and the Art Ayslum 18" inch Beast figure . Already received the Beast figure and it is in mint condition!
So now I own all those listed above as well as the 18" cyborg mint in box, Phantom of the opera, Live After Death,
Neca fully clothed trooper (just released last week). I only need the original album Eddie and I will probably pass on the smaller cyborg eddie and the neca killers eddie.... It looks like they used mustard for paint! Lol! Oh I almost forgot! I have the Neca Powerslave mask too!
