Metal with female vocals

Perhaps I should post this in the Nightwish, because then I guess more people would watch it.

After Forever with Floor Jansen

Hard to beat this band, live.

Great version of Follow in the Cry with George Oosthoek on grunts. Check the Van Halen intermezzo!!! ==> click
And their catchy track Energize Me.

All seven songs:

Not bad at all. I'd like to hear her sing higher at times, though. I was waiting for it and it didn't happen.

Yeah, so was I for awhile, but that's just not her range. Her voice takes some getting used to, but I for one am glad to have a female metal singer not singing in that "typical female metal" range. It's distinctive.

Seven Kingdoms from Tampa, FL; they opened for Queensryche when I saw them in 2013.
I was super impressed by the band, especially their vocalist, Sabrina Valentine. Great power metal.

Recently, at the Malmö festival, I stumbled upon a more or less all-female metal band called 'Imber' playing at the rock tent.
I only caught the last 2 songs of their act, but the tent was rocking and they had awesome energy.

Here's a song I found on youtube:

But they have more stuff on Spotify if anyone's interested!

:edmetal:

They're a Swedish band then I take it?

I think so! At least mostly Swedish. When I saw them the lead spoke Swedish to the crowd. She also had dreads and was tattooed all over, so she really looked the part.
Actually, she kinda looked like that chick from the show 'Vikings' if you know what I mean?

Myrkur: Danish one woman black metal band ( @SixesAlltheway ) Good stuff. I like the atmosphere, reminds me of the cool wave of black metal we had in the 2nd half of the nineties.

The project debuted with a self-titled EP in 2014; Amalie Bruun provided the vocals, played all guitars and bass and produced the album.

Someone Posted her EP a year or so ago on Metal-Archives and I completely fell in love with it. Haven't got round to her album yet which came out about a week ago

Chelsea Wolfe: US Drone/Folk/Post Metal. Her Last 3 Releases made my #1 album of the year for each respective year. (Would have been 4 in a row if not for TBOS)

I've heard some of her stuff but so far I'm not sold. I find the music quite pleasant while I'm listening, but the moment the record ends it all melts away like a mirage.
