Metal with female vocals

Like the direction this thread turned.
Donnas are so much fun. The just nail the Kiss/AC/DC vibe.

I agree with that, my point was I hear more traditional rock in The Donnas than I do in a lot of other all girl bands of that era. A decent amount of Donnas music (some production changes aside) could have been released from 1978 to 1984 and fit in along bands like Kiss, Van Halen, etc). Just good straight up rock music.

Yup. I'd say old time 50's stuff like Wanda Jackson influenced these girl bands too...I mean, just listen to Wanda Jackson's voice and she has a mean attitude to boot. The original riot grrl? :p

I haven't posted bands i dislike but some of it I like more than others of course. I post here if I stumble upon a track from a band that I like and think that maybe someone else on here would like to check out too. Its a female fronted metal band suggestion thread after all :)

I am impressed by your listening scope and quantity. How do you have the time (and concentration) to do that?

Thanks man. I don't know. But I'm a music nerd I guess

...I like to look for new music, even if just to check out a song or two..But yeah I'm rather diverse in my listening habits...

From The Gathering Facebook:

Today exactly 20 years ago we started recording Mandylion at the Woodhouse studio's, Hagen, Germany! First recorded song: Strange Machines.

Yup. The Gathering pretty much owns this thread, though their best stuff is barely "metal" in the traditional sense. All other bands named here are battling for second place. Mandylion is great, but my favorite Gathering album is if_then_else, which has a lot of beautiful stuff, including this:
