5-6 for Dance of Death. It sucks that "Chains of Misery" got paired up with "Paschendale", I really wanted to vote for it and would happily take it over many other DOD songs. Oh well.
 
6-5 for Fear of the Dark, clearly a better album, but this is a small difference.

Wow surprised I’m the only one who went for Journeyman. I figure Fear would win this but did not expect the near unanimity. I want to say it was more popular here before and has declined recently. @LooseCannon ?
 
"Journeyman" used to be a 10/10 song for me, but has since fell down to an 8/10. I still like it, but it could've been a little shorter, yes.

This really could've gone either way for the most part. Dance of Death isn't as great as many consider it to be - still like it, though. Childhood's End would've beaten it a year ago, that said. These days the latter has fallen, unfortunately. RIP.

Love Journeyman. I get why FOTD is winning but DOD's closer is incredible, just outside my Top 20 favorite Maiden songs.

Weekend Warrior vs Age of Innocence is a very interesting match. The first is a song I used to never care about, then enjoyed, then fell in love with it and consider it an underrated gem. The latter is a song I really didn't listen to at all, then fell in love with the chorus, and now consider it a great one. Very interesting stuff.
 
"No More Lies" is a fantastic song, but quite annoyingly repetitive. "Afraid To Shoot Strangers" is just a fantastic song.
 
No More Lies has a repetitive chorus, Afraid to Shoot Strangers is repetitive for the first 3 minutes and last 2 minutes.

I never mentioned chorus repetition. I meant the melodies and overall tone of the song. "Afraid To Shoot Strangers" has a lot more variation than "No More Lies", which is basically built around one or two fairly similar riffs. And I did mention annoyingly repetitive, which doesn't at all mean "ATSS" is not repetitive. It means that its repetition is not as annoying and doesn't bother me as much as "No More Lies".
 
No More Lies succeeds in the repetition (though singing the chorus isn't as fun as others), but ATSS is an overall better song.

DoD vs Childhood's End was really tough (and probably could've gone either way)
 
Well that was enlightening. I fully expected to be giving DoD a clean sweep, but found some of my FOTD favourites up against weaker DoD tracks. I don't class Journeyman as 'weak' incidentally, it's just not my cup of decaffeinated stuff.

"New Frontier" wins over "The Fugitive" by a hair for me. Both are very close to each other on my list, there's only "The Edge of Darkness" between them (higher than "Fugitive", lower than "New Frontier").
