Mafia: Game 1: Mafia wins!

Did you enjoy this game?

You know, this post quoted by MDR gives me more of an incentive to push for a Collin lynch. If Collin was to flip Town, I'd be almost certain Mosh is scum for such tentative language. If Collin flips Mafia, we get a Mafia out, which is good in itself.

Gave it some thought and I went with a no vote. Too much of a risk at this point in the game. I still suspect Collin but I'm willing to wait and see if other evidence presents itself. I also suspect at least one of the yes voters may be mafia.

Nominate me next time then. :p

I don't want to make the mistake of lynching someone on the off chance that they're innocent, especially with SMX already gone and probably someone else on their way out.

By refusing to lynch people, you essentially give the Mafia a free kill during the night. If the worst happens, we lynch Collin and he's Town (if he's cop, he most likely would have claimed), we at least get information from his flip. At least we get something in exchange.

Wait now I'm unsure about the rules. Are you saying that the mafia only kill if we don't lynch someone?

No, they'll kill regardless. Our only way to take chunks out of the mafia is with voting, so it's best to make use of it as much as we can. And even if we get a townie, we get some confirmed knowledge and use it to fuel a huge chunk of speculative information. Collin was agreed upon by the largest majority, with you yourself voting him during the preliminary phase. Which makes no sense why you want to go against the lynch now; it seems like you're pussyfooting to save face at this point.

But we still get information with a mafia kill right?

Don't know how going against the lynch is saving face in any way. If anything it's going to look bad, as this exchange proves. There's a team aspect with this game still and we are already going to be two of the town side down. Don't see the benefit in potentially killing a 3rd. With that said, I'm still willing to reconsider, if UO and CFH vote yes.

So does the cop work in isolation, then, or can we ask the cop to ask things?
You can suggest things in the chat, like who to check, but the cop doesn't have to answer or do anything. Of course, keep in mind that whoever is the cop may not want attention drawn to that person's role - or that if you ask publically for the cop to investigate, the mafia might consider that you're asking when they go to kill someone.

Happy belated birthday Collin. I voted no, for the reasoning set forth in Mosh's post above -- which cynically copied my original reasoning and is not genuine. Mosh is really voting no at this time because he doesn't want to reveal himself as Mafia at this point. Let's save one of our own and lynch Mosh "tomorrow."

P.S. Mosh is one of my favorite forum members, but, for purposes of this game .... KILL THAT MAFIOSO SCUM! ;)

Collin has survived. Nobody was lynched. Night has come.

The game will continue once I have responses to all my questions from the PM threads.

Good night, villagers. Let's see who is still alive tomorrow.

I hope SOMEONE dies. I'm getting tired of not having anyone to converse with about the game.
