Here some pieces of insanity from The Eindhoven Insanity by Gorefest. Prowdly I present to you one of the best death metal live albums ever made. And I also believe this might be the first live album by any death metal band. A monument. Very passionate performance and audience involvement. And: superb drums by Ed Warby. Try to finish these clips. The first is the opening song and it has a grooving instrumental part with chilling guitar melody.
Lyrics:
I'm a human being
And I killed human beings
And I did it in my society
Blood on your hands
As you put them near the hole in your chest
Where the bullet struck
And threw you flat into the mud
Come on lads
The bastards soon will be defeated
"God's on our side", is what you heard
When all went black
For god and the country
We raise our heads
All real heroes die
The glorious dead
From this point of view
It all looks very different
As you cough up blood
And an intense cold runs up your spine
No one ever told you
That it could be like this
Dehumanized, no respect for life
You want to cry
For god and the country
We raise our heads
Or ideals that weren't yours
The glorious dead
Misguidance was your undoing
Death stares you in the face
Memories past times flash by
As they declare you dead
For god and the country
You raised our head
Who remembers our name
The glorious dead
And a video-recording of the final song, with lots of changes. Great to see the crowd going nuts.
As a hardcore Rush fan, I have to say Snakes and Arrows Live is one of their weaker live albums. Pretty good setlist, but the performance isn't anything special. Not a great crowd either. Rush In Rio and Time Machine Tour are the better ones from the new era, hopefully CA Live will be great too.
As a hardcore Dream Theater fan, I think Score is simply amazing.
Fantastic that a live album from the so hugely criticized nineties reached the f**kin' top 10 of the best live albums of all times! Bruce's voice was rough, but at that point Maiden's performances were as energetic and passionate as ever. And the songs were played fast, but I tell you that that was an awesome element from the gigs I went to.
Finally some appreciation! Thank you!
@Mosh: now it's time to show some more respect: it's Donington with one 'n'.
