The Ever-Present "It"
If that's the case, I wonder what was going on in the studio for The Number Of The Beast.Ian Gillan did say he first discovered his famous scream "with the help of tight trousers"

Exactly - that's never been a secret. Martin Birch wound him up on purpose to try to get an authentic-sounding scream from him. And it certainly seemed to work ...Anger and frustration.
WTF?! Third time listening and he still sounds good to me! I must be the worst judge in the world of bad singing.
This is really bad. Singing the chorus to Tears of the Dragon with some wierd light head voice or something (He claims he's belting. Shittiest belting I've ever heard in that case). This guy studied with the same vocal coach Geoff Tate did. It's safe to say who was the more gifted student.
You must've muted the clip and have the original audio playing simultaneously.WTF?! Third time listening and he still sounds good to me! I must be the worst judge in the world of bad singing.
There are pretty good hearing doctors out there you know...WTF?! Third time listening and he still sounds good to me!
Indeed good documentaries. I think I saw bits and snappets from Sabbath's Paranoid too.
Well I watched that cover again. I don't like to take pot shots at random people on the internet but that guy has a long way to go.
His pronunciation is bad, as a non-native speaker I know it's hard, but it's what it is. If you pronounce bad you put bad accents on words and the musical flow suffers.
That's what he and Geoff Tate were taught.
No, but he is actively selling "how to sound like Geoff Tate".Spot on. You can see that accent development in Rafael Mendez. When he started he had it, nowadays it's pretty much gone.
Also to be fair to the guy, he isn't selling "sound like Bruce" training he's just selling himself. He may not do a good Bruce but he probably has better covers on his channel.
Early, before he was in Queensryche, under David Kyle, who taught the early bridging technique. According to Ken Tamplin, that is hard to sustain over time as a full time singer, and it's evident Geoff Tate isn't the singer he was even 15 years ago. He is still very good though. When did Tate go to vocal instructions? Early on, or later, so he can preserve his voice?
