You mean the angle? I assume that photo is taken from a helicopter doing a steep approach or from a photo aircraft.
But actually the approach was quite interesting. As there is terrain both north and south of the airfield, albeit higher on the north side, we decided to fly over at 2000 feet above ground, north of the airport, to check the conditions. Then we made a descending U-turn to join the downwind leg at 1000 ft above ground, extended that downwind leg to make a rather long final approach. Also, because of the mountains, there was some light turbulence on final, but not so much it could make landing a problem.
