My Monday ranks about 55%. Average day at work, Game of Thrones was somewhat disappointing, but I now have Avengers: Endgame booked for Friday. Gonna be a looooong week.

A wise choice, given the running time. I wanted to go to one of those Everyman cinemas with the sofas and bar, but there isn't one very close to me.
I've never heard of those. The most convenient for me is a Vue cinema. I'd rather go to the Showcase but it's at the other side of town and Vue is on my way home from work.

I've not heard of Showcase, looks nice. Looks like most of the Everyman's are scattered around London, the closest to Reading is Weybridge. There's an Everyman in Chelmsford, which isn't a million miles away from me but still a pain to get to.

In all honesty I don't like going to the cinema much, but I don't want to wait four months to watch Endgame at home.

I had to look up where Weybridge is. Lots of very wealthy people live there.
Surrey. Weybridge is where Brookland used to be - the world's first purpose-built motor racing circuit, which also had a small airstrip in the middle of the circuit. The industrial estate that now occupies the site includes a museum, and you can still see bits of the track (you can see it from passing through Weybridge station on the train, if you know what you're looking for). Vickers were there during WWII and if you watch the Dam Busters film, when they refer to Weybridge, that's where they mean. Place with a chequered and very interesting history.

Listening to Serenity, a band uncovered during the Book of History exercise. Sadly, nothing too special.

I've heard of Brookland! Is the museum for the old race track? If so I may visit over summer.
Visited that place last year. Right next to the museum you find a Mercedes-Benz experience center with its own race track. Guess that fits in well with all the wealthy people @Black Wizard mentioned ...
Was this around the same time your phone went mad and left me a voicemail of plane noises?

Agreed. I don't like the singer's voice but they are good live.

Would've been a few days later. We visited Brooklands Museum on the last day of the trip (went directly from there to Gatwick).

Btw, Brooklands Museum is at the site of the race track, and part of the track is preserved, but it contains a lot of stuff that should be interesting for people who are into engineering and science. Race cars all the way from the childhood of road racing up until modern Formula 1 cars, aircraft from different eras, and the Wallis Stratospheric Chamber, used to create high-atmosphere pressures and temperatures on the ground. This chamber has been used not only to study aircraft high-altitude performance issues, but also icing on vessels, and the performance of survival clothing for extreme cold.

I think it's for the whole history of the site - from what I've read in various places they seem to also have stuff on Vickers and Barnes Wallis for example. But there will certainly be plenty on the race cars. I've never been there yet but I probably should at some point.
