It's a regional thing. Memes are an intricate aspect of Brazilian culture (yes, culture), and it's not exclusive to kids and teens either. Literally every week a new meme goes viral (across all generations), but that doesn't mean the old ones die in the process. If anything, they get stronger. Idk, maybe because of this I just learned to appreciate memes for what they're supposed to be — quick and clever humor. I personally enjoy memes much more than what you guys consider "proper humor", and I'd go as far as to assume that most people here think the exact same way.

(That's - allegedly - a quick and clever way to say I'm really done with this discussion, because... I just can't. I really, really can't.)

(Well, actually, if most people here indeed did like memes more than that pesky "proper humour", as that last sentence implies, I think it might be the time to leave the forum altogether)

My take on what happened in the Funny thread is that a group of kids hijacked the thread and took away other users’ desire to post or pay attention to it, resulting in a thread that doesn’t fully serve its purpose and only serves a handful of users on the forum.
Pay attention, people. This comes from someone who's supposed to be part of the "meme generation".

Precisely.

But this is a very, very recent thing. It's not something that has been passed down from generation to generation since time began. I still dispute the use of the word "culture" here.

Don't. Tell us about Jud Junior.

Why, he usually has to be woken up to be fed and then he goes completely comatose for the next three hours, it's rather funny. And it's really hard to wake him up, he even slept through it when they took his blood in the hospital. But I've seen him smiling already! He's very cute. And he's okay, he's just sleepy.

It sounds to me like he's really taking after his father.

Lucky you! My own didn't sleep for 3 years and stopped crying about that time too. When she was a baby, she had the nickname King Diamond, but I think I've already said that here.

Wifey? What about you? Don't tell me you're one of those dads who migrates to the couch, so they can sleep all through the night!

Nah, I wouldn't. But I slept very little the last few days when I was on my own (various reasons) and tonight, which was the first one we were together when they got from hospital ... dunno, I slept kinda "okayish". We'll see tomorrow.
