Still, it didn't exactly kill the genre like some claim.
No, it didn't kill the genre. We're here listening to it right now. It did significantly reduce the stage presence of most metal bands, and album sales were never the same again. The pop culture space that was occupied by metal went to grunge and then...ugh...nu-metal. If it wasn't for Iron Maiden reuniting in 1999 it might have continued on that path.

Ya, I see what you mean there. And ya, nu-metal. I do love Chester Bennington's voice though and some Korn songs are pretty good.

Flight to Iceland is delayed by over three hours, dinner at Hard Rock Cafe has been cancelled, sorrows are being drowned in G&T.

I am no longer the chairman of the company sports team, but a mere deputy member of the board.

Freedom at last.

In other news, this afternoon it is snowing, and the snow falls on top of a thin, thin layer of ice. Thus I had a much harder landing while walking to my car than any of my landings earlier today ...

We had big snowfall overnight. It was a pain in the ass to walk around today, there was so much snow and it hadn't been cleared.
