THC doesn't impact everyone the same way. It is very clear that it's far less potent than alcohol is and doesn't cause physical addiction like cigarettes do, though.

It's clearly BS that it's not legal while alcohol and cigarettes are.

When I was 9, we had a scary-tactics anti-smoking lesson in my school. It freaked the hell out of me, and I've never smoked a single cigarette. When I was a teenager, we had LOTS of anti-drug lessons, and those worked for me as well. It's kind of funny, though, because I've now read scientific studies that scare-tactics lessons actually don't work, they don't decrease drug use. But it seems I'm an exception to the rule.

More seriously though, having recently taken University courses where drugs have been discussed, I'm still as certain as ever that I'm not going to do drugs. The risks are just too big. Although nowadays I also understand better why some people do it, which is something I didn't understand at all before.

I think it can be ok to try them just to see what it's like but I'd be extremely cautious about how often you do them. Like I will smoke a cigarette, but I will only really smoke them if I'm really angry or panicked and need to calm down quickly. If I smoked more, I'd start to get addicted. Smoking isn't a good thing, but I can control it well

This 100%

Everyone of course decides for themselves what to do. The problem of trying a drug/substance once is that it's possible to get addicted by that first time. It's not very common, but it's possible, and it's quite impossible to know beforehand whether it happens to someone or not. Also, situations in life can change, so there's a risk of substance use getting more regular, which like you said can add to the risk of getting addicted. I've solved the problem by being 100% sure I will not get addicted: by not trying even once.

Okay, health rant over. :)

This is what comes to mind whenever I hear someone ask what the downside of legalising pot would be. More pot bores.
I know exactly 0 people who started smoking pot regularly once it became legal. There's a lot more "one-off" users, or people who tried it, mind you, but no additional pot bores.

Well, the problem yesterday was mainly that there was only 3 of us at an event for 1500 people. I said afterwards that if I'm working as a stage lighting tech, I won't be doing rigging again.

Working as a stage lighting tech is pretty draining if you don't have band's set and don't know what to expect next. You need to listen to the music and prepare for your next move. Knowing a lot of songs helps, but still... There are a lot of things that can go wrong. Add to that that you can only do so much preparation. You can mix the colours, set the positions and create a few effects, but thats about it.
