I mean seriously though, every pothead I’ve ever met just wont stop talking about it. It’s a drug, Alex, and you aren’t special for using it so please stop already.

Who’s Alex?

I haven’t smoked in a few months to be honest, ands definitely not the demon I thought it was.

This is what comes to mind whenever I hear someone ask what the downside of legalising pot would be. More pot bores.

I know some people are just into shit in a big way but even when I toked I never gave a fuck about it. I didn't care if it was better or worse than the last shit, the technicalities didn't concern me. Bunch of borin fuckers. Just tell me your ketamine stories!

Not sure about legalisation, really. Is it really any worse than booze? I dont buy the whole 'gateway drug' thing either. Appetite For Destruction is a much bigger gateway drug, if you ask me.

Weed ain’t much to talk about in real life. I don’t mind Travis’ comments here but I know a couple of guys whom I’ve smoked with over the years and to this day they talk about weed as if it’s an interesting topic. Smoke and shut up.

In my experience, it’s not a gateway drug but it can be hard to stop using once you’re used to it. Same goes for alcohol for some people.

Alcohol is classified as a heavy drug by WHO, THC isn't. You can function normally being high all the time. A lot of people do it and don't talk about it.

I appreciate your observation and opinion Saap but that can't be said. THC introduces the slightest chemical addiction on the scale. There are numerous studies on this, and of course to get the real grasp you should read them, and not rely on the local pothead stories.

My conjecture on this - in my local drug riden environment, no-one that wasn't screwed before got screwed by weed. I know a guy, one of the first drummers I played with, it was said that he "cracked his head on weed" and is a bit cognitively slow now. Back then, I retell this story to a newly acquired friend who is a smart tool and just enrolled in one of the most prestigious gymansiums in the city..."wtf? lol that guy was stupid as hell in the school even before weed. Now pass that joint and stop talking nonsense"

I’m talking about a mental addiction. If you’re used to smoking a bowl every evening, it can be hard to accept when you get home one evening and there’s no weed. It’s personal, it depends on other factors, but there is an increase in wanting weed once you’ve smoked enough of it. I don’t know why you think I’m basing this on local pothead stories. As for functioning normally while high all the time, this doesn’t work for me, and I suspect it doesn’t for many people. I find it easily noticeable when someone is high a lot of the time. I’m not taking any stance on legalisation here, btw.
