Why is that?
Because I really hate winter and cold weather in general and November always reminds me of the long dark days that lie ahead of me for months to come. I don't like January or February for the same reason but they rank higher than November simply because they are closer to the spring. December is the only cold month that I sort of enjoy, but only because I like Christmas so much.

Best month per season.

WINTER: February, because we still have snow, can go skiing a lot, but days are longer than the rest of the winter.
Spring: May, because it's starting to get warm, and it's sprinkled with extra days off work.
Summer: August., because June is too unreliable, July is the only month of the year when it can get too fucking hot in Norway, and there are fewer mosquitoes in August. August also has more thunder and lightning, which is cool.
Autumn: October, because that's the month with the most colors out in the wild. It's also not so cold, wet and dark as November, which is not autumn, not winter, but the worst of both.

It must be remarked that even in Oslo, winter can come in November and last well into April (not the rule, but it happens), Further north, this is more the rule than the exception.

Spend all future vacations in Montenegro, or have every month of the rest of your life be your least favourite month of the year?
Why don't you just shoot me?

Also, late March to early September is my least favorite part of the year. The worst parts are when the day gets longer and sun sets after I finish work... Favorites are probably late September when the crazy summer fans get depressed over cold weather, and December and January when everyone complains about snow.

The thing is, I totally get where NP is coming from. For years I loved winter, preferred to be awake at night, and wouldn't even bother to open the curtains to let sunlight in during day time.

But things have changed since then and it boggles my mind that I not only was able to tolerate it, but actively sought it.
