It isn't cold at 14 celsius but blocked sunlight and annoying constant 50kph cold wind created by that blue thing made me pull out my "below zero" jacket. Yes it is an overkill and guaranteed sweat if you warm up in that thing, but the bike ride or walk to work is just short of warming up - and until that point it really freezes the fucking ears.
 
Our tree has been up for two years now, never taken down. It’s become a part of the family.
We did that one year too: my brother decided to go overboard putting up decorations (which was unusual) and no-one got round to taking them down for the rest of the year. That horrid '70's tinsel and foil concertina garlands that look like they're petrified or something. The tree was taken down, but nothing else was.
