To make sure the show on the 10th sells out.
Not necessarily - I'm pretty sure last time they announced both London shows together. It could be there were several more dates possible but they only wanted to choose three, so they waited to see which three would be the most useful. Also, has the 10th actually sold out? I just had a look and it's not showing as sold out so it could be to do with how fast it was selling. Or something else entirely, that we wot not of.

Anyway I find your assessment a little cynical ...:grumble:

No, for this year's tour the London shows were announced separately.

I'm pretty sure this is how it always works, announce the second date once a large enough chunk of tickets for the first one has been sold.

Fair enough. Here's another idea then: the extra dates don't usually have presales - this means that those who (for whatever reason) don't have access to presales get another chance, with everything still to play for and less competition, since the inital feeding frenzy will have been spent on the original dates by then. (Actually it as good as says that in the second article you linked to, albeit being said by a marketing-type person ...)

Also I can't think of anything more likely to stop the first date selling out than announcing a second date, with a full complement of everything now available, when they still haven't got rid of all the cheap seats for the first date :)

Even though all we got was a new office chair, it was nice to do black Friday shopping right here in the comfort of our home. All I had to do was click the item on the ad and place the order.
