But did I read it correctly that it's shuffle only? Also, with a premium account, you can download the music, what format is it?

IIRC, it used to be shuffle on mobile devices and in order on standard computers. Again IIRC, you don't get "physical copies" of the songs (files), you can only play it offline in Spotify; the format used to be OGG. Maybe that has changed since.

That format came out quite a few years ago, but I don't know how well it took off. I do see it used every now and then. The same goes for Apple's AAC format.
