It is in Czechia Tomorrow is the national holiday commemorating both:

1.) Nazi-enforced closure of universities in 1939, incl. the execution of 9 university students and beating about 1200 more and taking them to Konzentrationslager.

2.) the Velvet Revolution and overthrowing the Commie regime.

A Great Day for Freedom, as the Pink Floyd would have said.

We're commemorating the acts of defiance, the people who suffered because of it etc. We're reminding ourselves that freedom is not granted and that we were oppresed by two totalitarian regimes in the 20th century alone.

Hence the second reason as well.

The holiday is called "The Fight-for-Freedom-and-Democracy Day", or something along those lines.

You do. And... you have free access to the whole library even for free, it's just that sometimes (after 2-4 tracks, I believe), a short commercial is played.
