I was really bad at maths my first two years in High School and failed geometry. I started doing better toward the end and I got A's in math for senior year and an A in stats in College. Turns out Math is easier if you study and pay attention in class. Who knew!
 
We didn't have pass/fail targets like that all the way through school. There were tests at the end of the first or second year at senior school to determine which class you were placed in based on ability, but other than that, no serious exams until GCSEs at 16. I was crap at maths, but ended up in the top class, so I can only guess most people were even worse at maths. :p
 
@LooseCannon (or anyone else who wants to chime in): I'm looking into college in Canada. Good idea? Any recommendations?

Already did a lot of research but I'd like some input from someone who lives there too.
