Why haven't the fake accounts been banned yet is what I want to know. Instead of letting people keep signing in to the accounts every now and then? that's just stupid. Start with the Hawaii Dave account.

The multiple accounts issue has now been discussed several times because quite a few appeared last year. Even regulars who are on here every day were none the wiser about some of those. That's just not in the spirit of the 'for comic relief purposes only' mentioned in the rules. Occasional joke accounts like million_suns and a one-off April Fool's Day account are one thing, but there's now too much of it and in some cases it's derailing genuine discussions.

Do new accounts have to be approved or is it instant access? If they have to be approved, that would be nice if the admins could put their IP address in a thing that will match it with any other exact IP's. Of course, that wouldn't work if someone used a proxy or VPN.

New accounts are instant access, subject to a trivia question, that's why there's a problem with spambots.
