Your way of holding the pick always seemed very unorthodox to me. Why are you trying to change it though?

I have been aware of my weird hold for a long time but only recently has it started to bother me. I've come to realise that the way I'm used to holding the pick hinders me from developing certain techniques. I have grown accustomed to holding the pick with three fingers, but ultimately, I think I can gain more control over the pick and play fast with more ease if I go over to a more classic hold.

Saap, I never properly learned how to play guitar, which means my wrist technique is complete bunk - trying to retrain myself so that I can actually tremelo pick is a nightmare.

Funny, the inability to tremolo pick consistently is what inspired me to change in the first place.

Good luck, Saap! I know it's a constant uphill battle for me. Honestly, at this point I've resigned myself to being more of a groove and feeling player. It's why I can't touch anything remotely thrashy or most metal guitar solos with a 10 ft. pole.

I go out last night without a cap for half an hour and immediately I get a sore throat. This morning it feels like I'm swallowing rocks.

Sorry to hear that. Hope you get better soon. I usually don't have it like this unless I go out with wet hair.
Thanks. Never happened to me this fast. At least it's just the throat. It's flu season around here, even the school break got extended because of it.
