Don't look at me, I often email my MP and urge them to raise my taxes so we can afford better government services.

I think the USA has a government structure uniquely suited to massive boondoggles. Hard to improve upon, too.

Anyone here who doesn't care whether Dream Theater used playback? :p

Though I defended them in that thread, I actualy do not care at all, so do I count or not? :D

Ah, I probably don't.

MID-POST EDIT: Flash was quicker :p :

I don't, but I do care enough to explain that I don't care about it. :p

So tell me, since I've been a bit disappointed by Mad Men and I can only take so much True Blood at once... should I watch the Walking Dead? Is it the next Dallas??? Tell me more! Tell me more! Was it love at first sight?

Some glowing shit appeared near the ISS and couple of seconds after NASA cuts off the stream? Wohooo there's nothing like venturing into alien part of the Internet at midnight!

Acting is top notch, as is cinematography and costumes/make-up and such. People either really hate it or love it though. It can get really frustrating at times. I gave up after Season 3, then picked it up in February and I'm hooked again.

First 3 seasons had 2 different showrunners and were very inconsistent. They tried to steer away from the comics to make it more interesting but mostly failed, although there are some great episodes there. Then from Season 4 onwards they got the 3rd showrunner (Scott Gimple) who finally decided to just follow the damn comics, sped up the pace and recreated iconic comic scenes in the show which made everything better. S06E09 "No Way Out" is my favorite episode of the show and one of my favorite episodes ever of any show.

Nowadays the most frustrating thing about the show is when they have an episode end with a cliffhanger, then don't resolve it for 3 more eps in between which they follow different characters somewhere else. Not really a problem when you binge though.

I dunno how it compares to Dallas though :P

@Night Prowler's right about TWD. It's an absolutely great show, but the first couple seasons are inconsistent. I honestly gave up after the first season because I just didn't like it. Then I picked back up somewhere in Season 3 and fell in love. The last few seasons have had some of the finest episodes of television I've ever seen.

I'll piggyback what Night Prowler and Knickerbocker said. The first season is incredible, but I didn't like the 2nd season much at all. I too gave it up for a while, then I picked it back up maybe 1 -2 years later. I have been hocked ever since. There are some episodes here and there that are pretty slow with not much happening, but it's not much of problem when binge-watched. It's one of the only shows I'm watching right now that's still currently airing.

To return to the Czechia discussion once more, the problems have already started, it seems

:D

I hope this is some kind of autocomplete-gone-wrong mishap.

They raised my rent. <_< I really shouldn't complain, the rent is still far below average even for this dump of a neighbourhood, but still... <_<

I feel your pain. I've been bracing myself for a rise for ages, mine is incredibly cheap for the area (although not cheap as in generally affordable).

Me and my wife we live with the in-laws - we have the upper part of the house and they (that is, the father and mother-in-law) live downstairs and we share the costs of electricity, the timber etc. Gets you sometimes weird looks from your co-workers, but you ain't payin' no rent at least. :D

You don't have multi-generation families living there?

In all honesty, it's been a rarity here too, since the 1930s at least, but it's not as if we were all that progressive ourselves :D

If they leave you alone, sounds fine!
