Piece(s). A lot of them. I followed the same format of pieces last year so had to keep it consistent for this year as well. But I had to zip 10 days' work into 2 days because of the mid-term week.

Sorry to hear that. What's the problem?

Head gasket needed replacing. Guy who did the repair made a complete mess of it, damaging several other parts (as well as the new head gasket!) and causing water to leak into the oil again. Fixing the mess would involve a lot of time and money with no guarantee that the engine would work when put back together.

Oh, that's not good. Unfortunately I have found out the "authorised servicing and maintenance" very often fucks something up. I'm not so cynical yet as to think they do so intentionally, but still...

Happy income confiscation day
I have until the end of the month for tax day. But hey, it keeps me healthy and lets me drive on roads and stuff, so I'm cool with it!

And this person is paying for the engine?

Government is the only thing that keeps the working class and the poor from being completely oppressed and treated as modern slaves by corporations. Well, good ones.

For me, the notion of doing taxes is completely absurd.
I need to file a tax report if

1) I had variations in my monthly paycheck
2) If I had anything to do with special tax areas like real estate, child support, special gov't social / relief programs, etc.

Point #1, if needed, is handled by the employer.
I usually get some tax return every year.

On the other hand, the VAT is 25%, and deductions are insane here, my gross to net ratio is about 1.5:1 . The public services mostly suck apart from some 'minor' ones like SAR, the healthcare system is falling apart. Most of my money goes to politicians and to those affiliated to them, if just 10% ends up in hands of those actually needing it I would be happy.

Here in Czechia you also often don't see the bright side of taxes - the state's finances leak more than Bonnie and Clyde, the politicans themselves are often connected to the subsidies/grants receivers somehow, the state-financed healthcare mostly sucks and our roads and highways have more holes per kilometer than Blackburn, Lancashire.

Not saying I complain all that much and I actually believe it gets better with time and they all say that for a post-Communist country we are doing great, but I get why someone else could complain.
