There's a big sunspot at the moment:

#IlluminatiConfirmed

They probably used HAARP to make it.

I saw then once in Iceland, pretty mind blowing stuff.

But I had the pleasure of seeing them in Magherafelt, Northern Ireland a couple of weeks ago (check google maps for idea of lat/long).
I keep hearing of them being visible in NI over recent years but have never seen them here before. It wasn't the full on, shimmery, drippy light that they sometimes are, more a distinct green hue in a cloudy sky. Still enough for me to nearly crash the car! My mates were driving behind me and later they asked "did you see that fuckin green light in the sky, what the fuck was that?!" so I know I wasnt seeing things!

I sent out my scholarship application today. Wish me luck...
Fingers are indeed crossed.

I've never seen the Northern Lights yet. They were visible in Northumberland a few times over the winter. I mean to go to Iceland at some point, though, so that would be a good opportunity.

Happy sunbathing in the sunlights!

(as there's more than one particle in an aurora, there's more than one ray in sunlight)

The source of the light is singular when it comes to sunlight. If you refracted it into different areas with mirrors, they would become lights in proper English. Same with the Northern Lights - when you see them, you see multiple "beams" at once. It doesn't look like one singular source.

This morning I asked one of the admin staff in my department to check the calendars of some members of staff so I can arrange a meeting. Instead of actually finding free time slots for me she sent screenshots of their calendars and it turns out that one of my supervisors might be going to Hellfest.

I see how you see it.

I rather look at it as plural "things" caused by a phenomenon. The Norhern Light is a light display in the sky. Lights caused by the Northern Light.
"Emission of auroral light." "Light emissions". Enough singular feeling to me.

Mind you, polar Light (and even Northern Light) is accepted in English, but somehow there is also a plural stream in your language (maybe a very old one made up by people who didn't understand it yet: "Look! Lights!"). I find it interesting that it deviates from most other languages I am aware of.
