Ever hanged out with someone you don't care for just to avoid loneliness?
Honestly I have done that before, and there's no easy answer as to whether hanging out with someone you don't like is a good idea, or not.

It really depends on how toxic the friendship is, and how extreme the loneliness is.

I'm fully aware of the effects of depression, which can truly be a terrible thing.

In other news, my pool team kicked ass tonight! I also ended up winning $86 from the slots.

All in all, 'twas a very swell evening.

In my case there's no 'friendship' to speak of. It's just some uninteresting guy. Loneliness is pretty extreme but it doesn't put me in a state of distress or desolation, it's more boredom than anything.

Welcome back, @mckindog! I'm glad to hear that you're into a new gig. I know what you mean about freedom. When you move to a job that feels a little less intense, you always feel like you're the one doing something wrong.

Good day Maidenfans. Long time no talk.
I am three weeks into a new job with considerably less responsibility than I am used to and a lot of freedom in what I choose to do and how to do it.
This is going to sound strange, but the lack of stress is a bit disconcerting.

Sounds fantastic, but I know what you mean. If you're used to the structure and routine of constant stress, or intense stress at certain times of day, it's harder to get motivated, and you end up constantly looking around you waiting for something big to kick off.

I think that's it. First time in 20 years I feel like i could take a sick day and no one would notice.

Apparently the US Marines were a bit concerned when they learned that, during the NATO exercise "Cold Response" in middle Norway, the food would be provided by Hell Catering :D

Explain something to me:

Everybody seems to agree that Kanye West is a douche, a guy without talent or artistic significance.

Why does everybody talk about him then? Why is he a topic?

I think it's because he says and does things that draw attention to him. It's like he's saying "Hey guys, I'm still here. Here's another egotistical comment to remind you of it". A certain amount of low cunning involved in that.

He's become a popular subject for people to bash, especially people who like completely different musical genres.

Because people are fascinated with the ignorant, flashy, and inane.

If you ask a lot of rap fans they will argue that he is quite significant, even if they all agree his music is not good and his personality is obnoxious.
