Is the fact that's he's Chinese significant?
The new local cinema is an interesting experience. It's quite luxurious, very comfy sofas for seating (it's only a 56 seater auditorium), cafe, bar, coffee bar, and tables next to your seat with wine bottle holders attached. They show a selection of short films before the main feature starts, too.
We have a few like that here, the VIP Theatre. It's about $20 for a Friday night ticket.
That's the downside, it's not cheap.
