Well, once I do set my foot in the gym or go out for a run I'm usually pretty committed to keep it going after that....It's just that first mind hurdle of actually doing it :D
 
Depends how high the step is.
Still, easy to motivate someone at that level of unfitness.

There are lots of good things at the tops of stairs. You tend to find bathrooms on second floors too.

I need to start working out, it's hard to find the motivation

I had finally found motivation and increased my workout frequency, then out of nothing (and not related to any workout session) a muscle in my back starts hurting like hell and has been doing so since Sunday evening. My body must be trying to tell me something.
