I'm not familiar with the terminology here, what does "American wild" infer when talking beer styles? I get from the context that it's sweet, but also spicy? Or?

I'm honestly not sure. It's not something I've really heard of before either. It was definitely quite sweet and very tart, with some Belgian-style spices and little hops.
EDIT: After a search, I guess the sourness comes from bourbon barrel aging and the yeast/bacteria used.

1. I noticed that you referred to your dinner as "tea" - weird.
2. I know you are Scottish. I decided to make a little joke, by referring to a different nationality within the British Isles, but felt that calling you English would possibly start something. Therefore, I decided to go with Irish (despite knowing that Ireland, unlike England, is outside the UK).
3. And here we are.
