The coffee machine's broken in my office so having tea instead. I'm sitting here with naff all to do too. Any ideas what I can do to keep myself amused?

I can't wait for the holidays, haven't had a day off since the summer and I'm absolutely exhausted.

That's a good suggestion. Have I discussed it with you that I plan to do that walk?
Could be! It's a bit cold this time of the year perhaps? :)

You did the San Francisco marathon? Would you tell a bit more about it?

Btw, how much is left of the actual wall? Is some of it preserved?
In the middle and east there's some nice parts left. I had a great time visiting it.

This is nice (go to Hadrian's Wall):

Sure! (After lunch).

There's a Hadrian's Wall specific walking trail, which I intend to spend a couple of days hiking and camping along (coast to coast).

A lot of lower sections of wall are still around, mostly put back together, but nothing full size. You can see most of the line of the wall in the countryside and walk along paths next to most of it. There are remains of forts in a few places. There's also this partial Roman fort reconstruction in South Shields, not a huge detour if you're on Tyneside. I can't remember if there are bits of wall left hidden away in industrial areas of Tyneside, too.

One of the more recent theories was that it wasn't intended to hold rampaging Scots at bay. It was a handy marker for administrative purposes and a trade barrier.

Remember, remember, the 23rd of December. Our Mr Murray is 58 years young today!
