I knew the Dutch were known for cycling, but didn't really know why until today. This place is built for bikes.
 
Yep, but all the bike lanes too.
In BC, bikes are well behind pedestrians in the race for second place in terms of transportation infrastructure, and so far behind cars all you can see is a faint trace of the exhaust.
 
That's one of the reasons I'm looking forward to Ottawa. It's apparently the most bike-friendly city in Canada.
 
I'm wondering how often the canals freeze up here for skating.
They would give the Rideau a run for its money.
When you making the move to the capital LC?
 
I've never been to Ottawa. Probably a lot more Canadians can say that about their capital than Europeans.
My mom was born there though.

Scandinavia is a common name for Denmark, Norway and Sweden. Strictly speaking, the Scandinavian Peninsula is mainland Norway and Sweden. Denmark is included in the term Scandinavia because its culture, history and language is closely linked to the other two.
