WOW!!! That's great! There are so many underground power/progressive/melodic bands out there that we would probably never hear it all in our lifetime. Another great one that I've mentioned on here is Dragonland.

Ya, there is definitely a time and place for everything. What I would have done is walk past him and then back and if I make eye contact, maybe say "hi Bruce" and see if he replies and let it be at that, but if he made it obvious that he doesn't want to be bothered, then just let it be. It's still pretty amazing that he happened to be flying the same plane!

If I saw Bruce or any member of Maiden on a plane or anywhere in public, I'd most certainly take a pic! He tried to approach him once and let it be and then got one pic. I don't see a big deal in that. It's not like he's stalking the guy.

Just because he's famous doesn't mean everyone can take pictures of him as they wish. IMO it's rude. If it was in a record store or on some festival's grounds, then cool. Otherwise, rude.
