You’re a major music nerd, and most people in your life consider you to be an expert. You’re very committed, but there’s some lines you don’t cross.

Questions regarding concerts killed my rating because I've only been to a couple of shows so far. Questions regarding bitrates, FLACs and keeping music libraries in order made me smile, I'm obsessed about those stuff.

I thought my Audio technica ATH M-50 headphones would live forever. Yeah, I was wrong. First it seemed real simple: My cat bit off the input lead. Easy fix, my colleague can solder and crimp the lead for me, as my soldering blows. No, my soldering is utterly pathetic.

Turns out though, that the (probably ultra thin) copper wire connecting one of the drivers to the circuit board is apparently broken and that would be a real fucking hassle to fix. Going down tomorrow and get a new pair (205$ ish, current exchange rate)... Sadface.

I know how you're supposed to do. I've got the theory down. But I'm a bit too crude with my hands. There just are some things you're not very good at and and soldering is one of mine. I need to learn how to be at least mediocre at it as I'm a live sound engineer and all...

My fingers always turned out fine, which can not be said of the piece of electronics that ended up being covered in a huge blob of metal.

Have a great time fixing my headphones. I'm sure the headband, or whatever it is called, isn't too much of a hassle for you to open, put a cable through, and then reseal. And after that you can solder the wire to the circuit board! :D

Edit: That. ^

In general soldering goes okay for me, it always works but occasionally is accompanied by a large blob of metal. My fingers however have never suffered from it.
