I think you are referring to Flashblock which is, indeed, yet another great add-on.

Narp, I have adblock on chrome, it blocks things it recognises as ad's by default, but you can specify certain page elements/urls too.

It ended yesterday. I'm back home now.

It was good. The university visit days were really interesting. The odds of me being offered a PhD are really slim though as the funding is so competitive but the trip was worthwhile just for the opportunity to talk the the supervisors and visit a couple of places I'd never been before.
