Forrest Gump
The Dark Knight
The Empire Strikes Back
Back to the Future
The Holy Grail

Those are the first that spring to mind.

I love watching cartoons and don't feel guilty about it at all. I also like all films in which the world is about to end - Armageddon, Indepencence Day, The Colony, The Day After Tomorrow, etc. Dogma is also among my favourites, although I must admit the ending spoils all the fun.

Oh and another one I love - A Knight's Tale.

I think people should educate themselves and form their own opinions on such things. Of course, no one has to watch a movie or TV show, but the things marked "classics" usually have some sort of cultural and social significance (hence their stature). I think those things should be studied, but, I also have a film degree, so I guess I like movies a lot more than some people.
There are a lot of less known, often lower budget b-films that I enjoy better than some overrated classics (I don't find Casablanca overrated, but I think of that qualification after having seen film noir classics such as Out of the Past or Touch of Evil; I can mention at least 200 film noirs that I like better).

I certainly would not consider Casablanca to be a noir film, despite it occasionally being classified as such. It is influenced by noir, but I would never compare it to Out of the Past or Touch of Evil.

I did not mean to stress in that post that it is a noir film. I just wanted to mention that I don't find it overrated. When I thought of overrated, I thought of these two noirs. Sorry for the confusion.

That said, I for one would surely understand it if anyone would call Casablanca a noir, and I would compare any film with any other if I wanted to.

The most perfectly constructed movies I've ever seen are the two Godfather films, but the most entertained I've ever been in a movie theater was Raiders of the Lost Ark. (Pulp Fiction a close second.)

For a long while I have been thinking about seeing the old Indiana Jones films again. I haven't seen them for at least 20 years. I don't own them, but perhaps I should change that soon.

I have one of these quirky, modern group interviews at Asda tomorrow for a temporary part-time position. It seems to involve a bunch of team exercises.

I've been trained for all kinds of quirky interviews and assessment centres, and I will probably never need any of that training.

It was a mandatory part of my BA program. Next to the actual subject I was studying, I was supposed to take courses in a general professional education, which included courses in stuff like diversity management, mediation and self marketing, as to enhance my soft skills. Fact is though, in my field of academia, it is actually typical that you are a socially awkward outsider, because that means you spend most of your time conjugating verbs and practicing etymology instead of going to parties. Your PhD is your application. Of course, I excelled in the soft skills courses, because they were full of banalities and platitudes, all of which I got taught at school and during my civil service.
